How to Clean Precious Jewelry at Home

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 sheet aluminum foil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon dish detergent

Directions:

  1. Pour water into a microwave-safe mug or bowl. Heat in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes.

  2. Line the bottom of a cereal bowl with aluminum foil. Pour hot water into the bowl. Add salt, baking soda, and dish detergent; do not stir. Place jewelry on top of foil. Let soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

  3. Rinse jewelry in cool water and dry well with a soft cloth.

Recipe Tip:

This jewelry cleaner works on gold-filled, brass, German (nickel) silver, and sterling silver. It’s safe for stone too.
